On January 23 2020 Russian Orthodox Spiritual and Cultural Center in Paris will host a meeting of the General Assembly of the Public Association “The Franco-Russian Alliance”. The cultural program of the event – the concert of the Russian piano virtuoso Rem Urasin – will be held under the auspices of the international project “Russian Seasons” in France.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the French Republic Alexey Meshkov, President of the “Franco-Russian Alliance” Alexander Trubetskoy, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the Association Laurent Poltierre du Menill and its Vice-President Denis Plevinage will speak at the meeting. The attendees will get acquainted with the report on the organization’s activity for 2019, approve the budget for 2020, and learn about the upcoming events.

Russian and French Christmas carols will be played during the cultural program, after which the members of the association will hear a performance by a famous Russian pianist Rem Urasin, the People’s Artist of Tatarstan, winner of international competitions, who came to France as part of the “Russian Seasons” project.

The audience will hear works by European composers: Frédéric Chopin (Nocturne in F Major, Op. 15 No 1; Waltz in A Flat Major, Op. 69 No 1; Grand Beautiful Waltz in A Flat Major, Op. 1, Op. 34; Two Mazurkas in A Flat Major, Op. 24 No 3, B Flat Major, Op. 24 No 4; Scherzo in D Minor, Op. 39), Franz Schubert (Sonata in A Major, D 664), Franz Liszt (Hungarian Rhapsody No 12), etc. Members, friends and partners of the association have a free entrance to the meeting.

Rem Urasin is one of the Russia’s brightest pianists. Supporting the traditions of the Russian piano school, he embodies the image of a romantic hero who combines the credo of a musician-thinker with a virtuoso artistic presentation.
