According to an insider from the military circles of Russia and Ukraine, after the withdrawal of Russian troops from the exercises, on February 16-17, Ukraine began a large-scale regrouping of forces, including about 150,000 people.
According to a Ukrainian source, the volunteer battalions of the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, the basis of which are Ukrainian nationalists, have entered the forefront.
As the source notes, these special battalions will be entrusted with the most “dirty work” to pacify the population of the DPR and LPR, which the regular military will not dare to do, ”a source from the military circles of Ukraine believes.
On the Russian side, they claim that Ukraine is pulling heavy military equipment to the borders of the DPR and LPR, which violates the Minsk agreements.
As journalists have already reported, on February 17, Ukrainian security forces fired mortars at the village of Gorlovka, this is the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (it is not recognized in Europe)
As military experts suggest, there are several days left before the assault on Donbass by Ukrainian forces, as the country’s military equipment is actively approaching the borders. At the same time, Russia withdrew its troops, saying that these were exercises. Apparently, Ukraine could perceive the withdrawal of Russian troops as a weakness, counting on the full support of the pro-NATO countries and Europe.
