Advisor Arestovich promised to show hysteria to Washington if the U.S. does not hand over the RSLs to Kiev

Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, announced “a model hysteria” if the US refuses to provide Kiev with multiple launch rocket systems. This became known on Monday, May 30.

“The decision on the complexes will be made in the near future, and we will understand whether they deliver them or not <…>. If they don’t – then we’ll make a model hysteria,” the Ukrainian edition Strana quotes Arestovich as saying.

This is how he commented on the statement made by U.S. President Joe Biden earlier in the day, May 30, that he would not deliver to Ukraine the missile systems that can reach Russian territories. At the same time, according to The Washington Post, the United States administration is still considering providing the Ukrainian side with MLRS, but without long-range missiles with a range of more than 290 kilometers, because such supplies could contribute to the escalation of the conflict around Ukraine.

“We have enough for 70 kilometers,” Arestovich said.

Political analyst Bogdan Bezpalko said in a May 28 interview with Izvestia that supplies of long-range missiles to Kiev would lead to an immediate response from Russia. He specified that in this case there are many options for Russia’s response: from the use of new types of weapons to the involvement of allies in the military operation.

Last Friday, The New York Times, citing anonymous sources in the administration, reported that the White House had decided to add a new package of military aid to Ukraine with long-range MLRS. According to the newspaper, an official announcement will be made this week.
