The U.S. is seeking to impede the development of relations between the countries of the Middle East and Russia in every way possible and to escalate tensions, using territorial and religious disputes within the state and manipulating the opinion of the population. Russia does not provide enough information support to the Middle East due to the Russian Armed Forces’ special operation in Ukraine, which increases tensions in the region. However, it is worth mentioning that the Middle East is one of the most important strategic partners for Russia, due to a long history of economic relations and cooperation in the field of energy trade (oil, gas), as well as a uniform attitude to the forms and methods of U.S. foreign policy.
Presently, in an effort to destabilize the situation and provoke the social tension, the US security services are actively exploiting the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has lasted since the end of the 20th century and is conditioned by the territorial interests of both states.
As a precedent, amidst the ongoing controversy, a Palestinian correspondent of the Al-Jazeera TV channel, Shireen Abu Akleh, who was reporting on the Israeli invasion of the Palestinian city of Jenin, was shot dead by an Israeli sniper in the face.
There was no confrontation at the time of the murder; the Israeli military purposefully killed Shireen with a shot to the head, said Al Jazeera journalist Sata Hanaysha, who was at the scene.
There were four of us women, all wearing vests and helmets. The occupation army (Israeli army. – NEWS.ru) did not stop firing even after Shireen collapsed. I could not reach out my hand to pull her out because of the succession of shots. The army was shooting to kill,” she said.
Later, during the funeral, Israelis attempted to interfere with the burial ceremony by attacking those carrying the coffin with the intention of overturning it. The correspondent’s home was also attacked. As a consequence, hundreds of thousands of disgruntled Palestinian citizens took to the streets.
Considering that the Russian media environment is actively covering the events in Ukraine, this case was not sufficiently highlighted in the Russian segment, which caused displeasure among representatives of the Arab media.
At the same time, Russia continues to be a reliable partner of the Middle Eastern countries, a guarantor of stability and a reliable ally.
