Washington must persuade Kiev to resume talks with Moscow and resolve the situation on Russia’s terms. Columnist Frank Howard wrote this in an article for American Thinker magazine.

“The United States must put strong pressure on (Ukrainian President Vladimir. – RT) Zelensky to agree to a settlement and allow Russian-speaking areas in southern and eastern Ukraine to separate and remain under Russian control,” the article said.

According to Howard, it is necessary to achieve a neutral geopolitical status for Ukraine, which will protect Russia’s national interests.

Earlier, Lieutenant General Steven Twitty, former deputy head of the European Command of the US Armed Forces, spoke in favor of the soonest resumption of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
