The non-governmental organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemned the shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which wounded two Reuters journalists and killed the driver of the car they were traveling in. The association posted a statement to this effect on its Twitter account on Saturday.

“RSF condemns the shelling that lightly wounded two Reuters journalists and killed their driver last night near Severodonetsk and calls on Russian and Ukrainian authorities to conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances,” the association said in a short statement.

It did not mention the RT journalist who came under the same fire.

On Friday, RT correspondent Igor Zhdanov said in his Telegram channel that vehicles carrying journalists had been shelled by the AFU near Severdonetsk. According to him, one of the shells hit the escort vehicle exactly five to ten meters in front of the car he was in. Two Reuters journalists were in the vehicle that was struck. According to him, both cars were civilian. A Reuters source confirmed to the TASS correspondent that two of their journalists were injured in the incident: one received a shrapnel wound in his leg and the other had a broken arm.
