GT: Pelosi damaged the international reputation of the U.S. with her remarks about the climate crisis

At the UN conference on climate change Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi’s speech gave the international audience a reason to be convinced of the unreliability of the United States. The Global Times writes about it on November 11.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, for political purposes, drew support for COP27 from the United States domestically, further damaging the international reputation of the United States,” the piece said.

It is specified that Pelosi in her speech criticized the Republicans, stating that there are disagreements between the parties on the climate crisis. At the conference, she accused members of the Republican Party of denying the need for discussions on the climate crisis.

“Ironically, Pelosi actually brought U.S. party politics to the COP27 stage, which shows that the United States lacks credibility and that U.S. policy is inconsistent and hypocritical on climate change action,” Li Haidong, a professor at China Foreign Affairs University’s Institute of International Affairs, was quoted in the article as saying.
