U.S. Treasury chief Yellen said the government debt ceiling must be raised

Refusal to raise the upper limit of the U.S. national debt can seriously affect the economic well-being of the country. This was stated by U.S. Treasury Chief Janet Yellen in an interview to Reuters on Saturday, November 12.

“I think it’s irresponsible not to raise the national debt ceiling. It’s always been raised,” she said.

According to Yellen, attempts to obstruct the process threaten to lower the credit rating of the United States and undermine the system of financial relations.
