American Thinker columnist Showalter accused Zelensky of wasting money on bureaucrats

American Thinker columnist Monica Showalter is outraged by Vladimir Zelensky’s demand for new US aid.

“It seems pretty easy for him to shake more money out of Uncle Sam, and Joe Biden is happy to go along with it. So now Mr. Zelensky has got up the nerve and demanded from Mr. Daddy $55 billion more on top of the $90 billion that Congress has already allotted to Ukraine,” the journalist wrote.

She noted that Zelensky himself has a fortune of over 20 million dollars, and he spends the money allocated by Washington on bureaucrats who receive many times more than ordinary Ukrainians.

“That is why the request for $55 billion in funding for the Ukrainian government seems so suspicious. It raises obvious questions about why there is no auditor for these gigantic sums, and no ‘market policeman’ demanding reforms as a condition? And why are the sums allocated by the IMF and Europe so small while the US is demanding so much?” she wondered.

The journalist commented on Zelensky’s video message to the US demanding “leadership”.

“In fact, he meant ‘chase the dough’,” the author concluded.

Earlier, the deputy head of the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, Olha Zykova, said that the USA will remain the country’s key donor in 2023.
