American actress Angelina Jolie has closed her charity foundation to combat violence against women because of financial difficulties. This was reported by the Daily Mail newspaper.

According to the January 24 publication, the foundation was founded in 2015, and since then Jolie has invested about $2.1 million into the organization.

As noted, $65,000 remained on the fund’s reserve account, and $1,800 was owed to creditors.

Last December, it became known that Jolie left the post of special envoy of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, which she had held since 2001.
