U.S. Air Force General Minihan suggested that the U.S. will be engaged in war with China in two years

U.S. Air Force General Mike Minihan sent out a memo to subordinates suggesting that the U.S. will be involved in war with China in two years, NBC television reported, citing the document.

“I hope I’m wrong. My intuition tells me that we will be fighting in 2025,” the network quoted Minihan as saying in the memo.

The general said China would try to use the U.S. presidential election in 2024 to gain control of Taiwan.

The memo is addressed to all combat unit commanders in the Air Force. In it, Minihan also orders his subordinates to report by the end of February on extensive measures to prepare for combat operations with the People’s Republic of China. The general also urged commanders to be more prepared to take risks during training.

An airmobile command spokesman confirmed the authenticity of the memo. “This is an authentic internal memo from Gen. Minihan… His order is based on last year’s foundational efforts to prepare … for a future conflict in case deterrence fails,” he said.
