Grammy Award winners to be announced Sunday in Los Angeles

The Grammy Award winners will be announced Sunday in Los Angeles at the 65th anniversary ceremony, which will be broadcast live on NBC.

The host will be South African actor Trevor Noah, who will make his third consecutive appearance in the role. The several-hour ceremony will feature some of today’s most popular performers on stage, many of whom have been nominated for the award.

The concert will be an anniversary not only because it is happening for the 65th time, but also because the organizers plan to celebrate the 50th anniversary since the founding of the hip-hop genre. An entire segment at the Grammy concert will be devoted to that event.

Among the nominees for the 2023 Grammy Awards, the most prestigious award in the music world, are Adele, Beyoncé, the band ABBA, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and many others.

The category “Best Album of the Year” includes “30” by Adele, Renaissance by Beyoncé, Voyage (ABBA), Un Verano Sin Ti by Bad Bunny, In These Silent Days (Brandi Carlyle), Music of the Spheres” (Coldplay), the third studio album by British singer Harry Styles, “Harry’s House”, “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” (Kendrick Lamar). Morale & the Big Steppers” by Kendrick Lamar, “Special” by American singer Lizzo and “Good Morning Gorgeous” by Mary J. Blige.

Ten songs received a nomination in this year’s Best Song of the Year category: Bad Habit (Steve Lacy), As it was (Harry Styles), Easy on me (Adele), Break my soul (Beyonce), abcdefu (GAYLE), About Damn Time (Lizzo), God did (DJ Khaled), The Heart Part 5 (Kendrick Lamar), Just Like That (Bonnie Raitt) and All Too Well (Taylor Swift).

Don’t Shut Me Down (ABBA), You and Me on the Rock (Brandi Carlyle), Woman (Dodge Kat) and compositions by Adele, Beyonce, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, Mary J. Blige and Steve Lacy will compete for the award in the Best Recording of the Year category.

In the Best New Artist category, Anitta, Omar Apollo, Domi&JD Beck, Mooney Long, Samara Joy, Latto, Maneskin, Toby Nwigwe, Molly Tuttle and Wet Leg are up for grabs this year.

The Grammys are awarded annually in more than 80 categories for achievement in various genres of music and areas of the music business. Winners receive a statuette in the form of a gold-plated gramophone. Each one is hand-cast in a small workshop in Colorado.
