General Manager of Walt Disney Iger: the company will lay off 7000 employees

The Walt Disney Company’s management intends to carry out a reorganization in which it is planned to cut 7,000 employees, CEO Robert Iger said during a teleconference with the participation of investors.

According to the plan of the updated structure of the organization, there will appear three divisions: the first will be responsible for most of the content in the field of film and television, the second – for sports programs, the third – for the theme parks and sales of goods.

According to Iger, cited by CNBC, this is how the company’s management expects to save about 5.5 billion dollars.

In addition, the company will lay off 7,000 employees, which is about 3% of its total staff.
