Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, has decided to receive hospice care at home and spend his remaining days with his family instead of continuing treatment.

The Carter Center, founded by the former American leader, announced this on its Twitter account.

“Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter decided today to spend time left at home with his family and receive hospice care,” the report said.

It is noted that in 2015, Carter was diagnosed with melanoma, a malignant tumor that had spread to his liver and brain.
