Breitbart readers marveled at Tennessee authorities’ decision to ban transvestite shows

Authorities of an American state have imposed hefty fines and jail terms for “adult cabaret” shows in the presence of children, Breitbart reports. Readers supported Tennessee’s decision and hope it will become a “refuge” for children in the future.

Tennessee authorities have passed a bill that would ban transvestite shows in public places or in the presence of children.

The law covers “male and female imitators” and adult cabaret performers, and bans “performances detrimental to minors.” The bill, codenamed SB3, will soon land on Republican Governor Bill Lee’s desk.

The bill was filed by state Rep. Chris Todd of Madison County with the reasoning that it is “designed to keep children safe” and “relies on common sense.” The law, which passed by a vote of 79 to 19, bans “adult cabaret” in the presence of children.

The definition of cabaret performers includes “go-go dancers, strippers and male or female impersonators whose performance evokes sexual lust and desire.”

If Governor Lee approves the bill, performing trannies in front of children would be classified as a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of up to $2,500. Violators would also face up to one year in prison. Repeat offenders, on the other hand, will be punished for a felony: they face a fine of three thousand dollars and one to six years in prison.

“Once again, Tennessee is ahead of the rest of the country. We want our state to be the safest place to educate children. This is a huge win for us and we will continue to work to protect children,” tweeted Senator Jack Johnson.

“The purpose of the bill is to make it clear that you can’t have sexually explicit entertainment in a public place where children may be present,” Johnson said. – “We are protecting the children themselves, the family as such, and parents who want to take their children to public places without fear.
