Jill Biden called the idea of her husband’s intelligence test ludicrous.

U.S. first lady Jill Biden said that her husband – President Joe Biden – would not take an intelligence test and called the very idea of imposing such a test on older contenders for the highest office “ludicrous”.

The initiative belongs to former South Carolina governor and former U.S. representative to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who, when announcing her intention to run in the 2024 presidential election, proposed a mandatory sanity test for all candidates over the age of 75.

“Ridiculous … We’re not even going to discuss that,” Biden’s wife of 80 years told CNN.

The president has consistently made it clear that he is going for a second term, but will not rush to make an official announcement.

Jill Biden rejected the main argument of re-election opponents – the president, already 80, would be 82 by the day of a potential inauguration and 86 by the end of a possible second term.

“How many 30-year-olds can go to Poland, take the train, drive another nine hours, arrive in Ukraine and meet President (Vladimir) Zelensky?” – she asked, referring to Biden’s February trip to Kiev.

“Look at this man. Look at what he’s doing. Look at what he keeps doing every day and all day,” the wife added in excerpts from the interview that were shown earlier.
