Josh Freese, who played with Guns N’ Roses and The Offspring, is the new Foo Fighters member

American rock band Foo Fighters introduced a new drummer. Josh Freese took over. He replaced the late band member Taylor Hawkins, Rolling Stone reported.

“The Foo Fighters officially announced during Sunday’s broadcast that acclaimed drummer Josh Freese will join the band permanently during their summer tour,” the source says.

The artists’ new lineup tour kicks off May 24 in Guilford, New Hampshire, in the U.S.

Josh Freese has previously worked as session drummer with Avril Lavigne and such bands as 3 Doors Down, The Offspring, Guns N’ Roses and many others.

His predecessor Taylor Hawkins died last spring at age 50.
