CNN journalist Amanpour claimed daily requests for interviews with Putin

CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour has issued a rebuke of Tucker Carlson, saying journalists allegedly try to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin “every day”.

“Does Tucker really think that we journalists don’t try to interview President Putin every day since <…> (the start of the special operation. – ed.) in Ukraine? This is absurd – we will continue to ask for interviews as we have been doing for years,” Amanpour wrote on social network X, without revealing details about such requests.

Meanwhile, users in the comments of the post hinted to her that “working for CNN” is “not journalism”, accusing the network of working for the US Democratic Party.

Carlson on Tuesday posted a video message on X with a backdrop of the Kremlin towers and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, in which he said he would soon interview Putin. According to the journalist, he will do this because Americans are completely unaware of what is happening in Russia and Ukraine. He added that the US population has every right to know “everything possible” about the conflict “in which they are involved”.
