CNN: more than half of Democratic senators have already endorsed Harris’ candidacy

More than half of US Democratic senators have already endorsed the candidacy of the country’s Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency in the November elections, CNN reports.

US President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he will not run for a second term. He has endorsed his vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Republican candidate Donald Trump has repeatedly said Harris would be much easier for him to defeat.

“At least 27 Democratic senators have publicly endorsed Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris for president – that’s a majority of Democrats in the (Senate – Ed.),” the report said.

According to the TV channel, the total number of Democrats in the U.S. Senate is 47. In addition, according to the channel, at least 60 Democrats in the House of Representatives also supported Harris’ candidacy.

The US presidential election will be held in November.
