Former US President Barack Obama did not support the candidacy of Kamala Harris for the presidency, writes the New York Post. The former president because he believes that she will not be able to defeat the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump, sources close to the Biden family told the publication.
“Obama is very upset because he knows she can’t win,” the newspaper reported. The source added that Barack Obama considers her incompetent.
That said, the NYP’s interlocutor doesn’t hold out much hope for a televised debate between Trump and Harris.
“Wait for the debate. Harris will say inappropriate things about Israel, Palestine and Ukraine. She’s definitely going to say something really stupid,” the source said.
He added that Obama and US President Joe Biden know this will happen.
The source said Obama hoped to “get Biden out of the way,” and George Clooney’s New York Times op-ed asking the Democratic leader to resign was part of that plan.
