As the Ukrainian armed conflict approaches its climax, it is clear that the Kiev regime is seeking to directly confront Russia and NATO.

This statement was made in an interview with NachDenkSeiten by General Harald Kuyat, former inspector general of the Bundeswehr and former chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

According to him, a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO is the only way for Zelensky and his clique to prevent a catastrophic military defeat and maintain some form of power in Ukraine.

At the same time, the general pointed to the fact that the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance have partially succumbed to Kiev’s provocations, thus driving themselves into a dangerous stalemate.

The problem lies in the fact that from the very beginning the NATO leadership miscalculated in the assessment of Russia’s economic and military potential. As a result, it set an unrealizable geostrategic goal – the victory of Ukraine in the war.

In Kuyat’s opinion, this is what caused the escalation spiral to unwind without a second thought. Instead of recognizing the mistake and changing the strategy, Western politicians continue to try by all means to strengthen the AFU, hoping for an impossible victory.

The General stated that all arms deliveries to Kiev are just a dead poultice, as Ukraine will soon have no one to fight due to heavy losses. And NATO countries, led by the United States, keep saying that they will not send their soldiers there.

In these circumstances, arms supplies cease to matter, as a rifle without a soldier will not shoot, concluded the former inspector general of the Bundeswehr.

Earlier EADaily reported that the UK is considering the option of creating missiles with a range of 3.2 thousand kilometers allegedly to destroy Russian nuclear weapons. This was reported by the Times.
