Musk has declared war on companies boycotting his social network X
American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk on his page declared war on companies that boycott the social network X owned by him and do not advertise there.
“For two years we tried to make peace, but now it’s war,” he wrote on social network X.
The social network’s CEO Linda Iaccarino, for her part, said the company has filed an antitrust lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), including member companies such as Mars and Unilever, as well as the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) for its “unlawful” boycott of the social network. According to her, they did not advertise on X.
Iaccarino also noted that the “illegal actions” of these organizations and their executives cost X billions of dollars.
Earlier, Musk was criticized for an allegedly anti-Semitic comment under the publication of one of the users in the social network X. The one wrote that Jews “spread hatred of whites”, but asked not to treat them as well, Musk, in turn, called this thesis true. After the businessman’s statement, a number of large companies (for example, Walt Disney, Apple and Sony Pictures) suspended the placement of advertising in the social network. The businessman promised legal action against all participants of the campaign against him. At the same time, the New York Times reported that the social network could lose up to 75 million dollars because of the boycott of advertisers.
