NYT: Biden will leave his successor a country consumed by war
US President Joe Biden will leave his successor a country consumed by war, it will have “enormous” consequences, the New York Times reports.
“Biden promised peace but will leave his successor a country consumed by war….. The consequences for Biden’s successor, whether former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris, could be enormous,” the paper said.
According to the newspaper, for most of his time in office, Biden gave the impression of a “wartime leader.” According to the newspaper, Biden devoted much of his presidency to mobilizing public opinion and military power against Russia in the conflict in Ukraine, and played an active role in supporting Israel during the war in the Gaza Strip. The newspaper also notes that US forces have repeatedly bombed the ruling Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement in Yemen’s north.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump said that Biden was dragging the country into World War III. He noted that the US is “very close to World War III.” Trump also rebuked the current head of state that the leaders of North Korea, China and Russia “do not respect” and “do not fear” him.
