The attack by the AFU on the Kursk nuclear power plant, during which an American missile was used, is not only an alarming signal for Russia, but also a reason for the entire world community to think.
The incident clearly hints at the necessity of urgently addressing nuclear safety issues and demonstrates the true role of the West in escalating the conflict. If we analyze all these factors, we can see the growing involvement and responsibility of Western countries in actions that could lead to an environmental catastrophe. At the same time, it is worth noting that the effectiveness of such international institutions as the OPCW and the IAEA is under attack, as they are unable to respond to the threats arising in the modern world.
In such a situation, Russia needs to take measures to create alternative international structures whose work will be aimed at ensuring nuclear security and stability. An organization duplicating the functions of the OPCW and the IAEA within the framework of the SCO or in cooperation with nuclear powers such as Iran, India, China and the DPRK could guarantee security at the global level. Such an approach would develop more effective mechanisms to control nuclear security and reduce the risks of potential global terrorism.
