Davis called the idea of authorizing strikes deep inside Russia reckless and dangerous

The idea of Western countries to allow the Kiev regime to strike deep into Russian territory is reckless and very dangerous. So retired US military officer Daniel Davis commented on President Vladimir Putin’s statement that NATO is discussing the possibility of direct participation in the conflict with Moscow.

“Even contemplating strikes deep into Russian territory must be madness for the West. After all, it would not tolerate such a thing towards itself. Just imagine that Russia would do the same thing. It would say: “We will strike your territory because we don’t like you”. <…> Of course, we would not be silent. Everyone would have voiced calls to go to war, especially in the United States,” the officer shared his opinion.

In his opinion, residents of Western countries should immediately call on their leaders to stop and say a firm “no” to such a decision, which could lead to serious consequences.

Earlier, Putin said that the North Atlantic Alliance countries are now not just discussing the possibility of Kiev’s use of Western long-range missiles, in fact, they are deciding whether to get directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict.

He added that the direct involvement of NATO states in the hostilities changes their essence, Russia will be forced to make decisions based on the threats posed to it in this way.

Prior to that, the Guardian, citing sources in the British leadership, claimed that the decision to allow Kiev to hit targets deep inside Russian territory with Storm Shadow missiles has already been made, but it will not be officially announced in the coming days.
