Israeli attacks on southern and eastern Lebanon have killed at least 492 people and injured at least 1,645, Al Jazeera reported citing data from the country’s Health Ministry.

At the same time, among the dead – 35 children, 58 women and two health workers, the ministry noted. Earlier it was known about 356 dead and 1,246 wounded.

Israel launched massive strikes on Hezbollah facilities in Lebanon on the morning of September 23. On the same day, Israel launched a military operation there. Its target, Israel’s Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi called Hezbollah’s infrastructure.

“We are striking targets and preparing for the next stages,” he said.

A state of emergency has been declared across Israel.

Later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the residents of Lebanon. He called on the population who live near Hezbollah facilities to leave these places. He emphasized that Israel is not waging a war against the Lebanese, but against the group, and assured that the residents will be able to return to their homes in the future.
