NYP: Kamala Harris criticized for behavior at voter meeting
US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ performance while speaking to voters in Arizona drew strong reactions for her laughter and attempts to speak to the audience in “simpler words” without a teleprompter, the New York Post reported.
“The crowd, however, applauded her oversimplification. Social media users were far less forgiving,” the publication noted.
Fox News Channel political commentator Joe Concha called Harris “probably the worst candidate ever.”
Steve Cortez, a former adviser to Harris’ rival, Republican Donald Trump, had a similar reaction, calling Harris “the worst nightmare.”
“It was brutal to watch. <…> Kamala Harris without a teleprompter is the Democratic Party’s worst nightmare,” the publication quoted him as saying.
On Friday, while speaking to voters in the state of Arizona, Kamala Harris, speaking about the importance of the upcoming election, said that “it’s filled with some stuff,” and immediately laughed.
Earlier, psychiatrist Carol Lieberman suggested in an interview with NYP that she may have imposter syndrome, which is characterized by anxiety that manifests itself during her public appearances.
