NBC News: record number of wealthy Americans plan to flee the US
A record number of wealthy Americans are planning to leave the US indefinitely after the presidential election for fear of any unrest, NBC News reported, citing experts in the emigration industry.
‘According to immigration lawyers, in the run-up to the election, an increasing number of wealthy Americans are planning to leave the country, as many fear political and social unrest regardless of who wins,’ – said in the material of the TV channel.
It is noted that lawyers and advisers to high-income households said they are seeing record demand from clients seeking second passports or residences abroad on a long-term basis.
‘We’ve never seen demand like we’re seeing now,’ Dominic Volek, head of Henley & Partners, a group that advises the wealthy on international migration, told the TV station.
He said wealthy Americans have taken 20 per cent of the company’s client base for the first time. Voles added that the number of US citizens planning to move abroad has increased by at least 30 per cent since last year.
The US presidential election will be held on 5 November. The Democratic Party will be represented at them by Vice President Kamala Harris, while the Republican Party will be represented by former President Donald Trump. Early voting has begun in many states.
