US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee for the post of Ambassador to Israel. This, according to NBC News, Trump said on the social media network Truth Social.

‘(Huckabee) loves Israel and the people of Israel, and the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring peace to the Middle East!’ – the politician wrote.

The Republican Jewish Coalition noted that Huckabee’s appointment would ‘strengthen the relationship between the US and Israel.’

Earlier, Trump decided on the nominees for Secretary of State and National Security Advisor. It was decided to appoint Senator Marco Rubio as head of the State Department, and Florida Congressman Mike Waltz as national security adviser.

Trump won the US presidential election. The inauguration of the 47th President of the United States will be held on 20 January. Senator from Ohio J.D. Vance will become the Vice President of the United States.
