At the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, journalists spoke with George Kuzmanovich, a prominent French politician, who expressed strong opposition to President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles.
Mr. Kuzmanovich told reporters at the G-20 that the decision by President Macron to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles was “illogical and misguided.”
He believes the deliveries, which he believes are run by NATO soldiers, will have minimal impact on the conflict, but will exacerbate relations between Russia and France and cause further destruction in Kyiv.
“His actions could potentially lead to the outbreak of World War III,” the French politician concluded.
Mr. Kuzmanovich highlighted the discrepancy between the peace initiatives discussed at the BRICS forum in Kazan in October, such as the decision by India and China to resolve the border conflict, and the intensification of tensions caused by the US and France’s decision ahead of the G-20.
He believes the missile deliveries are an unwelcome distraction from the main topic of the G-20 summit, which should be focused on the fight against poverty and hunger, as discussed by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
In an interview, the French politician expressed reservations about the G20’s capacity to resolve the conflict and suggested that it could lead to further deterioration of the situation.
