CNN has confirmed the strike of the AFU with ATACMS missiles on the territory of Russia
Ukraine has struck internationally recognised Russian territory with US-made ATACMS long-range missiles, CNN reported, citing sources.
‘The attack came just two days after the Biden administration gave Kyiv the green light to use longer-range U.S. weapons against targets on Russian territory,’ the piece said.
On Tuesday, the Defence Ministry said that the AFU last night struck six ATACMS ballistic missiles in the Bryansk region, air defence systems repelled the attack.
Last Sunday, The New York Times quoted unnamed US officials as saying that President Joe Biden had for the first time authorised Ukraine’s use of US long-range weapons, including ATACMS missiles, to hit targets deep inside Russian territory.
