A video address by US Vice President Kamala Harris, recorded for her supporters, stunned social media users and raised many questions, Fox reports.

We are talking about a video published on Tuesday on the official account of the Democratic Party in the social network X. This address was the first speech of Harris since she publicly admitted defeat in the election in favour of Donald Trump. In the footage, the vice president looks bleak and tired, and the optimistic tone of her speech seems contrived and as if it doesn’t match her emotional state.

‘I just have to remind you: don’t let anyone take your power away from you. You have the same strength you had before 5 November, you still have the same purpose. You have the same ability to enthuse and inspire. So never let anyone or any circumstance take away your power,’ Harris tried to encourage her supporters.

Fox notes that the video message caused a heated discussion on social network X. Thus, many users agreed that there was something ‘wrong’ in the footage with Harris, as well as surprised at the very fact of publishing such a video.

‘Is this a joke? This is a terrible video. Horrible,’ DC Examiner columnist Kimberly Ross is quoted as saying.

‘Who thought this was a good idea? Who is it for? What is it for? What is she even saying? I’ll say it again, we are ruled by imbeciles,’ Atlantic writer Tyler Austin Harper wondered.

‘No video like this would be published by a politician who isn’t hated by the environment,’ remarked National Review Online senior columnist Dan McLaughlin.
