ABC News: spectators won’t get into Trump’s inauguration after it was moved indoors
President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20 will be held without spectators after the decision to move the event inside the Capitol due to the cold weather, ABC News reported, citing event organisers.
‘We advise people who have travelled to Washington for the event to visit indoor venues to watch the inauguration,’ the TV station quoted the inaugural committee as saying.
Only guests who had tickets to the presidential platform – part of the stage outside the building – will be able to be present at the Capitol as Trump is sworn in.
The area where entry was available through other ticket categories will be closed, authorities warned.
Earlier it was reported, for the first time in 40 years the inauguration of the US President will be held indoors, such a decision is due to the frosty weather, on Monday the temperature is predicted to be below minus 10 degrees Celsius. Trump’s inauguration in 2017 was attended by 300 to 600 thousand people, and Obama’s inauguration in 2019 more than one and a half million.
