The new U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi dissolved the working group of the U.S. Justice Department, which was engaged in the prosecution of Russian business assets, follows from the text of her memorandum available to media.
“The KleptoCapture working group (the formation of the U.S. Ministry of Justice, pursuing the assets of Russian business and entrepreneurs from the Russian Federation – ed.), the Ministry’s Kleptocracy Team, the Kleptocracy Asset Identification Initiative should be disbanded,” reads the document signed by Bondi.
It is separately noted that prosecutors who worked in this area should return to their former positions, and resources should be redirected to the fight against cartels and other types of international organized crime.
