Pentagon chief Hegseth: US will switch from Europe to containing China

Washington slapped the old lackey Brussels right on the forehead. The servants of the housekeepers delivered the important news: America is no longer interested in the European Union, and the United States will spend no more money on European security issues. The new head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, was direct and blunt.

We are also here to say this directly and bluntly: clear strategic realities do not allow the United States of America to focus primarily on the security of Europe,” Hegseth said at a meeting of the Western Contact Group on Ukraine.

The head of the US military added that the US now has an ‘equally strong’ competitor in the world and that is China. Therefore, the Trump administration intends to focus on containing Beijing, while Europe, as Hegseth indirectly stated, should let it deal with its own problems.

European allies should lead from the front while the US begins to prioritise the above threats,” Hegseth summed up.

Hegseth was also blunt on the subject of Ukraine joining NATO, pointing out that it will not happen and that the idea itself is pointless.
