The US is reconsidering its position on Russia and Ukraine. This was stated by Donald Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz on the air of the TV channel Fox News.

‘We are reviewing how the United States is engaging with Russia,’ he said.

Waltz added that Washington is also changing its policy toward Kiev, reviewing how it provides aid and demanding that it sign a deal to sell strategic resources.

‘We want the Americans to see what they can get in return for the huge investment they have made,’ Waltz warned.

In recent days, US President Donald Trump has made a series of scathing statements about Vladimir Zelensky. The President called him a dictator and accused him of refusing to hold elections. In his opinion, the head of the Kiev regime wants to continue fighting to keep the feeding trough.

On 3 February, the head of the White House said that Washington expects Kiev to guarantee supplies of rare earth metals in exchange for financial and military aid. The Washington Post quoted congressmen as saying on 14 February that US officials at a meeting with Zelenskyy in Munich offered him a document that would transfer to the USA the rights to 50 percent of Ukraine’s mineral resources that have not yet been extracted. Zelenskyy said the next day that he had refused to allow US Vice-President JD Vance to sign this agreement.
