Reuters: Trump backed the idea of a deal with Russia on rare earth metals
US President Donald Trump has said he supports the idea of a deal with Russia on access to rare earth elements, Reuters reports.
‘Trump: would like to make an agreement to get access to Russian rare earths,’ the publication said.
According to Trump, both Russia and Ukraine have deposits of rare earth metals as well as gas oil.
‘Look, it’s great, it’s great for Russia, too, because we can make deals that will tap into very valuable but unused land. Something like that can happen,’ he added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday during an interview with VGTRK TV presenter Pavel Zarubin that Moscow is ready to offer the United States the possibility of joint work in rare earth metals, including in new regions.
