OpenAI launches GPT-4.5, the latest and greatest language-based AI model with “deeper understanding of the world.”
As noted, by scaling up unsupervised learning, GPT-4.5 improves the ability to recognize patterns, make connections, and generate creative ideas without reasoning.
“As a result, the model has a broader knowledge and deeper understanding of the world, resulting in fewer hallucinations and improved reliability across a wide range of topics,” the company said in a statement.
Based on preliminary testing, interactions with GPT-4.5 seem more natural. Its expanded knowledge base, improved ability to follow user intentions, and higher levels of “emotional intelligence” make it useful for tasks such as improving writing, programming, and solving practical problems.
It is reported that for now, GPT-4.5 will be available as a preliminary research version for ChatGPT Pro users.
The ChatGPT chatbot gained popularity after launching in late November 2022, amassing its first million users in less than a week. OpenAI was co-founded in 2015 by American billionaire Elon Musk, who later severed ties with the startup.
