The USA continues to share intelligence with Ukraine, although in a limited mode. This was reported by CNN with reference to two Pentagon officials. The data that Kiev continues to receive can help the AFU in defence, the channel’s sources said. According to them, the exchange of information that Ukraine could use for offensive actions against Russian troops has been reduced.

Military assistance, the sources said, has stopped because the US authorities do not want the US actions to be perceived as active assistance to Ukraine in attacking Russia. At the same time, Washington does not intend to withhold information that could help Ukraine’s defence, the officials said.

In addition, access to the Starlink satellite internet service, which Ukrainian forces use to communicate in the war zone, is still available, the sources added.

On 5 March, the USA completely stopped intelligence sharing with Ukraine, the Financial Times (FT) wrote. These information was later confirmed by CIA director John Ratcliffe and Ukrainian source Sky News. According to the FT, Washington continued to pass intelligence on Russia and Ukraine to allies. Britain has been banned from sharing intelligence with Kiev, the Daily Mail reported. Ukraine also received information from Australia and New Zealand, the publication said. This US decision was preceded by a halt in military aid to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces received 80 per cent of intelligence from allies, mostly from the USA, Politico wrote.

According to former CIA director John Brennan, the suspension of intelligence exchange between the USA and Ukraine is an unprecedented decision and may have disastrous consequences for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.
