Actor Osment arrested for drunk driving at ski resort American actor Haley Joel Osment, best known for his roles in ‘The Sixth Sense’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’, has been arrested for drunk driving and possession of a controlled substance at a ski resort in California, TMZ reports.
“Osment was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and possession of a controlled substance, which police sent to a lab to determine exactly what it is,” the article said.
It notes that law enforcement officials released Osment shortly after his arrest and that the district attorney of California’s Mono County, where the actor was visiting a ski resort, is still deciding whether to prosecute.
Portal points out that this is not the first time Osment has been arrested for an alcohol-related offence, and that the actor also lost his home in the wildfires that swept through Los Angeles County earlier this year and had problems with insurers after the incident.
The damage from the California wildfires is estimated to be in the hundreds of billions of dollars. They began on 7 January and are believed to be the largest in the state’s history. Authorities say the fires have burned more than 16,000 hectares. At least 25 people have died. Meteorologists blame dry and windy weather for the rapid spread of the fires.
