
Fox News: St. Petesberg-Clearwater airport closed after a bomb report
St. Petesberg-Clearwater International Airport in Florida closed after a report of an explosive device, passengers were evacuated, Fox News reported, citing local police.
According to the channel, the incident occurred on Friday evening. It is noted that the passengers of the airplane of the airline Allegiant were evacuated after the report of a bomb.
“Passengers aboard an Allegiant flight at St. Pete (Pitesberg – ed.)- Clearwater Airport were evacuated Friday night while police investigated a bomb threat,” the TV station notes, citing the Florida Pinellas County police office.
According to the TV station, authorities are not reporting any injuries or casualties from the incident. The TV channel does not give other details of the incident.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration confirms that passengers on the Allegiant plane “safely disembarked on the taxiway” at St. Petesberg-Clearwater Airport due to a security threat. The agency says the airport is closed amid an investigation by local police.
