China’s passenger car exports from China to the U.S. fell by nearly a third in April

Exports of passenger cars from China to the United States in April this year was at its lowest level since April 2022, falling also compared to March by almost a third.

Thus, at the end of April, the volume of Chinese exports of cars and other vehicles to the States amounted to 116.6 million dollars. This became the minimum since April 2022, when the volume of shipments amounted to 93 million.

For the month, the volume of supplies decreased by almost a third, and in annual terms – by 42%. Meanwhile, cumulatively for the first four months of this year, exports of cars and other similar vehicles to the U.S. totaled $587.3 million, down 20% from the same period a year earlier. And for the whole year – 3.7 billion dollars.

In April, Americans most of all bought cars with gasoline engines of one and a half to three liters – for $46.1 million. They also imported golf carts for $25.4 million, electric-only vehicles for $23.4 million and hybrids for $21.6 million.

All Chinese passenger car exports reached $8.3 billion in April, up 20 percent month-on-month and 3 percent year-on-year.

At the same time, the U.S. dropped to 22nd from 11th place among Chinese car buyers. And places in the top five went to Brazil (597.7 million dollars), Belgium (564 million), Mexico (560.9 million), Great Britain (540.7 million) and Australia (509.6 million dollars). Russia is sixth with 507.1 million dollars.
