US President Donald Trump will soon personally announce the replacement nomination of billionaire Jared Isaacman, a close ally of Elon Musk, to head the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the White House said.
“It is critical that the next head of NASA is fully aligned with President Trump’s ”America First“ course, and President Trump will soon personally announce the appointment of a successor,” France Presse quoted a White House spokesman as saying.
Earlier, the American media, citing sources, reported that Trump intends to withdraw Isaacman’s nomination due to the fact that he made donations to prominent Democratic figures.
On December 4, 2024, Trump proposed his candidacy for the post of head of NASA. In late April, the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee recommended Isaacman’s confirmation to the position.
