The US has imposed sanctions on four judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The relevant statement was published on June 5 on the website of the US State Department.
“Today, the United States is imposing sanctions on four individuals who are currently judges of the ICC,” the statement said.
The list includes judges from the ICC Appeals Division, Solomi Balungi Bossa and Luis Del Carmen Ibáñez Carranza, as well as from the Pre-Trial and Trial Divisions, Renée Adélaïde Sophie Alapiini Gansu and Betty Hoeller.
The statement emphasizes that these individuals abused the ICC’s authority and directly participated in the court’s crimes against the United States and Israel. As a result of the sanctions imposed, all of their assets located in the United States will be frozen.
