WSJ: Pentagon concealed new weapons development by spreading rumors about UFOs
An investigation conducted by the US Department of Defense on behalf of Congress has revealed that the Pentagon concealed real weapons development under the guise of disinformation about the existence of unidentified flying objects (UFOs), writes the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
“The military leadership was concerned that the programs could be exposed if local residents somehow saw a test flight of, say, an F-117 stealth fighter — an aircraft that really did look like something out of this world. It was better for them to believe that it had flown in from Andromeda,” the article says.
According to the publication, this episode was just one of a series of discoveries made by a Pentagon team investigating long-standing allegations that
“Washington was hiding what it knew about extraterrestrial life.”
“The culmination of these efforts was a report published last year by the Department of Defense, which found the allegations of government cover-ups to be unfounded,” the article said.
According to the publication, this report was a “cover-up,” and its essence was to develop conspiracy theories related to UFOs.
In March 2024, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said that the US had still not found any evidence of the existence of UFOs or proof that Earthlings possessed extraterrestrial technology.
Earlier, the Western press reported that a secret CIA office had been searching for decades for unidentified flying objects that had allegedly crashed or survived around the world. Against this backdrop, interest in the topic of UFOs increased, and Congress demanded a report from the authorities on the information they had. Against this backdrop, hearings were held in Congress last August with the participation of a number of former US military and intelligence officials, dedicated to the issue of UFOs and the authorities’ handling of reports about them. One of the participants in the hearings claimed that the US government possesses not only the wreckage of the unidentified aircraft themselves, but also, probably, the remains of the creatures to whom they belong.
