El Tiempo: Two more people were injured during an attack on a senator in Colombia

Two more people were injured during an attack on Colombian Senator Uribe, according to the newspaper El Tiempo, citing police sources

The person who shot Colombian senator Miguel Uribe, who was planning to run for president, turned out to be a teenager, El Tiempo reported.

“The alleged attacker is a 15-year-old teenager who was wounded by Uribe’s security guards,” the newspaper wrote, citing authorities.

Witnesses told the newspaper that the underage attacker arrived on a motorcycle. He approached the senator at a distance of about one and a half meters and shot him in the back about six times. One of the bullets hit Uribe in the head.

The politician is in the hospital.
