A plane carrying up to 20 people crashed in the US state of Tennessee, CNN reports, citing the highway patrol.
“According to preliminary data, there were between 16 and 20 people on board. Some were airlifted to nearby hospitals,” the report said.

The New York Times, citing the Federal Aviation Administration, reports that the crashed aircraft was a De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter. It was used for skydiving.
The newspaper also quotes eyewitnesses to the tragedy. They said the plane crashed near the airport in Tallahoma.
