CNN: At least 378 people were arrested during protests in Los Angeles
The number of arrests for participating in riots in Los Angeles has increased significantly over the past few days, with at least 378 people detained during protests over four days, including nearly 200 in the past 24 hours, CNN reported, citing Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell.
“At least 378 people, including nearly 200 today, have been arrested over the past four days,” the report said.
According to the channel, authorities detained 197 people on Tuesday. It is noted that 27 people were detained on Saturday, 40 on Sunday, and 114 on Monday.
“Since Saturday, we have seen an alarming escalation and unlawful dangerous behavior… Blocking motorways, city streets, and exits, refusing to comply with lawful orders to leave the area, and interfering with the work of public safety services is dangerous, unlawful, and will not be tolerated,” the TV channel quoted McDonnell as saying.
