Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez: US attacks on Iran are grounds for impeachment
US attacks on Iran are a flagrant violation of the Constitution and the war powers of Congress, which is a clear and absolute basis for impeachment, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York said on the social network X.
“The President’s catastrophic decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a flagrant violation of the Constitution and the war powers of Congress… This is an absolute and absolute basis for impeachment,” the congresswoman wrote.
She also added that Trump “impulsively risked starting a war that could trap us for generations.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced a successful operation by the American army against three Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan. The president said Tehran must agree to “end this war” after the US strikes. Fars news agency cited Iranian authorities as saying that nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Fordow in Iran had been hit by air strikes. Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council member Mohsen Rezaei had earlier said Iran had moved all of its “enriched nuclear materials” to a safe location.
