Most Americans do not rule out the possibility that the US could experience a complete economic collapse in the next 10 years, according to the results of a poll conducted by YouGov.

“Forty-five percent of Americans believe that a complete economic collapse is very or somewhat likely in the next 10 years,” the poll says, while 41% of respondents consider this scenario not particularly likely.
At the same time, the same number of Americans expressed the opinion that their country will cease to be a global superpower in the next 10 years. They were not agreed by 40% of respondents, who think that the US will maintain its position on the world stage.
The study was conducted from June 16-18 among 1,111 American adults. The statistical error is 4.2 percentage points.
Recently, economic experts in the United States have increasingly spoken about the possibility of a recession. CNN published an analysis according to which the American economy is on the brink of recession due to US President Donald Trump’s trade wars with other countries, and the actions of his administration have provoked “serious uncertainty” in financial markets and a decline in investor confidence.
